When you think of steel, what comes to your mind first? For many people, we are thinking of construction, where steel beams form the basis of tall buildings. Others might first recall the automotive industry, where steel accounts for up to 60% of a vehicle’s total weight. The fact is that steel in one form or another is around us most of the time. In our buildings, in our vehicles and even in our home decorations.<\/p>\n\n

MATERIALS FOR ARCHITECTURE AND HOME DECORATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Yes, steel has long been a popular material used in architecture and home design. In particular, cold-rolled steel is commonly used to create home decoration elements such as lamps and holders, but also as components for appliances.<\/p>\n\n

COLD ROLLED STEEL LAMPS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

When you enter a home goods store, you will probably find lamps made of many different materials. This may be due to aesthetic properties: the aluminum luminaire will have a different appearance than a luminaire made of cold-rolled steel, copper or brass. But appearance is not the only difference.<\/p>\n\n

Aluminum is selected for its compressibility and high strength-to-weight ratio. It is also cheaper than other materials. As for copper, its excellent thermal and electrical conductivity makes it a great choice for interior lighting components. As we have already mentioned, cold-rolled steel works extremely well in applications requiring precision production. In addition to its higher tensile strength and yield strength – compared to standard steel – cold-rolled adheres to tolerances extremely well. Finally, cold rolled steel works with a wide range of finishes, providing a level of versatility that is ideal in the world of home decor.<\/p>\n\n

It is also commonly used in computer hardware, lawn mowers and water heaters.<\/p>\n\n
